Stained Glass Studio Β· From design to glass

Turn a photo into a stained glass pattern

There are two different ways to start from an image. Choose based on whether you want a new composition or want to preserve the shapes you already have.

Start from a description, photo or drawing in the studio. AI generation uses credits.

Photo: reinterpret a subject with AI

Use From a photo for a portrait, a pet or a landscape that should inspire a new stained glass design. Start with a clear subject and a simple background. The AI may change details and composition; review the generated image before preparing its vector pieces.

Trace an image: keep an existing drawing

Use Trace an image for a drawing, a flat illustration or a pattern with shapes you want to preserve. High contrast and clear color regions help. Tracing vectorizes the source instead of asking AI to invent another composition; noisy photos may produce many unwanted regions.

Turn the result into a practical template

After conversion, set the intended dimensions. Merge tiny background pieces, simplify unnecessary bends and check the joins around the subject. Compare the vector pattern with your source before exporting. Keep the editable SVG as well as your print file.

Make the pattern your own

Create a first version, refine the curves and pieces, then prepare your full-size template.
